Happy Democracy Day Fellow Avians!

As an organization registered in Nigeria with chapters across the globe, the Aviary Club of Nigeria deems it fitting to celebrate our cherished democracy. June 12th, 1999, marks a significant milestone in our nation's history, representing the reclamation of democracy after years of military rule (though self-government was achieved in 1960, it was the return to democratic rule in 1999 that truly shaped the democracy we know today). 

Today, we honor our forebears who fought for independence and freedom from colonial rule. This day will forever be remembered in the history of our great country and the world at large. 

As we celebrate our democracy today, we recognize the sacrifices of those who paved the way for this hard-won freedom. We extend our best wishes to all Nigerians, past and present leaders, and fellow Avians worldwide for a happy and reflective Democracy Day. 

This celebration is significant for all citizens of our nation. We wish all past and present Presidents of our dear country a happy Democracy Day, and we hope they will continue to defend our democracy with equity, justice, and fairness.
