AV Merchandise Guidelines and Brand Protection

Re: Clarification on Merchandise Guidelines and Brand Protection

In light of recent discussions and potential misunderstandings regarding the Aviary Club of Nigeria’s official merchandise policy, we, the ACN Media, wish to offer the following clarification and defense of our position:

Why Brand Protection Is Essential:

The Aviary Club of Nigeria is more than a brotherhood it is a growing institution with a public presence, community standards, and long-term development goals. Protecting our trademarked identity is not a matter of elitism or restriction it is a matter of legal responsibility, organizational integrity, and collective accountability.

Official merchandise is not just about aesthetics. It:

Funds critical projects that benefit all members (levents, outreach, etc.)

Ensures consistency and quality in how we are represented

Prevents unauthorized or misused symbols from diluting our shared identity

Safeguards us from external threats, including impersonation and exploitation

On Sanctions and Compliance:

The warning regarding potential sanctions for trademark violations is not an attack, but a protective measure aimed at preserving our structure, not punishing individuals. The leadership has a duty to maintain standards that protect the organization as a whole. Enforcement of trademark policy is a legally backed action, not a personal one.

We urge all members to see this not as restriction, but as stewardship of something we all helped to build.

An Invitation, Not a Division:

Let it be clear, the Aviary brand belongs to all Avians, and our official merchandise exists to reflect that shared ownership. Purchasing and wearing approved items is an act of solidarity, discipline, and foresight not exclusion.

We invite every Aviary and Avian, regardless of location or size, to join the movement of responsible representation and shared pride. We welcome questions, input, and dialogue but the line between unity and disorder must remain clear.

Unity Requires Order:

We defend our policy because every legacy worth preserving requires structure. The same energy we give to celebrating our colors must also go into protecting what they represent.

We are Avians.

We fly high together, not scattered.
