On July 19, 1996, a remarkable journey began in Nigeria one that would change the face of social club in the country. This was the birth of the Aviary Club of Nigeria (ACN), a club that started with a small group of passionate individuals and has now grown into a prestigious national and global community.
At the heart of this pioneering movement was Pastor Femi Martins, the visionary who registered the club under the name Aviary Club of Nigeria (ACN). His passion and his determination became a movement that would soon attract like-minded.
While Pastor Femi Martins was the driving force, he was not alone. He was soon joined by other brothers who shared his passion, including Bayo Alli, who would go on to become the Global President of ACN fine tune the Vision and Implemented Strategies .
Other foundational members such as David Olukoga, Bidemi Agbaje, Odia Eromosele, and Frank Oru played crucial roles. Frank Oru, in particular, was instrumental in governing and coordinating the club before its first official conclave and converge, laying the groundwork for the formal structures that would follow. Many individuals played important roles and offered valuable support throughout the process. From this collective effort, we selected leaders, some of whom went on to serve as Global Presidents. If you were part of this journey, we invite you to share your story in the comments section we will review and verify each submission, and updates or acknowledgments may be made accordingly.
While many contributed along the way, the lingering question remains. Are they still part of the organization today? Did they continue to fulfill their roles through to the end?
From the outset, ACN’s mission was clear: to promote responsible gentlemen in society and the creation of a vibrant community for across Nigeria and beyond.
The early years were a mix of challenges and triumphs from organizing informal meetups to launching educational outreach programs, the club steadily grew in numbers and influence. Its leadership recognized the need to create a platform where members could exchange knowledge, showcase their ideas, build leaders and friendships. Thus, the concept of the ACN Converge and Conclave was born.
The Converge and Conclave became ACN’s signature event a gathering that brought members from across the nation (and increasingly from other countries) together to celebrate their shared passion and vision.
Under the stewardship of leaders like Bayo Alli and supported by veterans like David Olukoga, Bidemi Agbaje, and Odia Eromosele, the Converge and Conclave became a must-attend event in Nigeria’s avian calendar.
The excitement, the energy, the sheer diversity of brothers, turned each gathering into a festival of feathers.
“Over nearly three decades, the Aviary Club of Nigeria (ACN) has transformed from a modest gathering into a powerhouse institution. Beyond elevating the standards of gentlemen across Nigeria, it has emerged as a distinguished voice for leadership, brotherhood, and self-actualization.”
The club has led campaigns to protect , educated countless Nigerians on responsible behaviors, and influenced policies around youth. Its members have published articles, participated in international forums, and brought home awards that have put Nigeria on the global avian map.
One of ACN’s greatest achievements has been its ability to create a sense of global community. Through partnerships, collaborations, and international outreach, the Aviary Club of Nigeria has connected with avian worldwide.
The upcoming Converge and Conclave on May 9 and 10 is yet another milestone in this global journey. Avian lovers from around the world are being called upon to join this historic gathering to learn, share, and help shape the future of our great club.
As ACN approaches its 29th anniversary on July 19, 2025, the mood is one of celebration and reflection. Almost three decades of passion, perseverance, and progress have laid a solid foundation. Yet, the club’s eyes remain fixed on the future.
Plans are underway to mark the 29th anniversary with activities that reflect the club’s rich history and ambitious future from educational workshops projects and awards ceremonies. “As we live to write history in two days, we urge all avians worldwide to come make history and make the 2025 Converge and Conclave a success.”
This event is more than just a gathering, it’s a celebration of community, a showcase of excellence, and a blueprint for the future. In the years ahead, ACN will continue to rely on its dedicated media team to keep members and the public informed.
