It was with deep sorrow and disbelief that the SADC Province of the Aviary Club of Nigeria received the news of the sudden and untimely passing of Homo Sapien Sheriff, fondly known to many as Hsn-Sheriff a loyal and vibrant member of the Madiba Aviary in South Africa. His death has left a gaping hole in the hearts of many who knew him and served alongside him in the SADC Provincial Council.
A native of Ijebu Ode, in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria, Hsn-Sheriff brought with him a cultural heritage of humility, humor, and responsibility. As Treasurer of West Perch within Madiba Aviary, his role was not merely administrative — he was a trustworthy brother, a pillar in his council, and a friend to all.
Those closest to him recall a man full of laughter, wisdom, and generosity. His charismatic personality and unwavering dedication to the ideals of Aviary Brotherhood made him a cherished presence in the Grande Council. Whether attending meetings, organizing drives, or simply being a source of laughter and light, Sheriff’s impact was unmistakable.
The news of his departure sent shockwaves through the SADC community and beyond. From Madiba Aviary’s members to the broader Provincial Council and ACN global body, tributes have continued to pour in. His Grande Ibaka, alongside fellow council members, has described the loss as “irreplaceable and deeply painful.”
As we come to terms with this reality, we find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. He was a servant-leader, a faithful Avian, and a committed soul to the mission and spirit of the Aviary Club of Nigeria. We will remember him for his cheerful spirit, diligence, and sacrificial contributions.
In this time of mourning, the Eagle’s Eye Magazine, on behalf of the ACN Media Team, extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Madiba Aviary community. We also stand in solidarity with the SADC Provincial Council as they grieve one of their own. To lose such a bright light is painful but we honor him by keeping his memory alive and striving to emulate the values he upheld.
May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and comfort all who loved him.
