I trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As we approach the significant moment of the upcoming governorship election, it is with great humility that I, as your SI, seek your indulgence and cooperation. I stand before you not just as a leader but as a fellow Avian, deeply invested in the unity, growth, and success of our brotherhood. In these times of political activities, it is imperative that we all take a moment to reflect on the core values that have sustained us and continue to hold us together as one.
Our brotherhood, rooted in shared history, commitment, and respect, is the foundation of who we are as Avians. It transcends political affiliations, personal interests, and external pressures. As the date of the election draws near, I urge every noble Avian to remember the following principles that define us and should guide our actions.
1. Unity
We must stand together as one. Now more than ever, unity is the most powerful tool we possess. Let our bond as Avians remain unshaken, regardless of the political choices we make or the candidates we support. The strength of our unity is what will ensure our survival through this period of uncertainty and beyond. We cannot afford to allow any force, internal or external, to divide us. A divided house, as we know, cannot stand. So, let us remain strong in our collective commitment to one another.
2. Protection of Fellow Avians
It is essential that we look out for one another during these elections. Do not allow any rival group or political interests to harm a fellow Avian. Political interests come and go, but our brotherhood is eternal. Let us ensure that no Avian is caught in the crossfire of political battles or personal ambitions. Our brotherhood comes first, above all else, and we must protect one another with the same fervor and loyalty that has always characterized our community.
3. Brotherhood Above Politics
The election on the 21st of September is just one day, but our bond as Avians lasts a lifetime. It is critical that we do not allow the events of one day to destroy the brotherhood that we have spent years nurturing. Political differences should never lead to personal enmity or discord. As brothers, we may not always agree, but we must always respect one another's choices and decisions. We are bound by something far greater than politics—our shared identity as Avians.
4. Value of Life and Brotherhood
Never, under any circumstances, harm or kill your Avian brother. Remember, the brother you may harm today could be the very one who saves your life tomorrow. In the heat of political tensions, it is easy to lose sight of the future and act impulsively. But I implore you, do not let momentary emotions or political loyalties cause you to do something you will regret for the rest of your life. We must value each other's lives and potential, for we are all essential pieces of the greater whole.
5. Avians First
Let your fellow Avian be your pride. Do not place politics, personal gain, or rivalries above the unity and honor we share as a brotherhood. We must always remember that we are Avians first, before anything else. Our loyalty is to each other and to the principles that define us. Politics should never come between us, nor should it ever cause us to betray or neglect one another. It is our shared loyalty to each other that makes us strong.
6. Wisdom and Leadership
As Airlords, it is essential that we act with wisdom and integrity. Our decisions during this election period must reflect the values we hold dear. We are not only leaders in our own right but also examples to others. We must make decisions that demonstrate our wisdom and commitment to the greater good of our community. As Avians, we have always been known for our wisdom and strategic thinking, and this election should be no different. Decide wisely, with the future of our brotherhood in mind.
As the election draws near, I want to take this moment to remind all Avians in Edo State that our primary goal is the continued strength and unity of our brotherhood. I look forward to seeing all GCs at the SS PC in good harmony, united and peaceful during this election. Let us stand as an example of how brotherhood can remain intact, even in the face of political challenges.
The true test of our bond will be how we navigate this period together, and I have every confidence that we will come out stronger and more unified than ever before. We have the power to influence not only the outcome of the election but the future of our community. Let us use this power wisely.
Finally, let us all remain committed to making a positive and lasting impact after the election. Our work does not end on Election Day—it continues as we strive to build a better future for ourselves and future generations of Avians.
Fraternally,
Sir Odia Eromosele
Global President Aviary Club of Nigeria
