An unfortunate incident happened November 2016,that shook the football world.

And it's a story of real pain and abject devastation that can lead to eternal depression.

A very painful incident of loosing your loved ones in their line of duty, well I mean only soldiers and families are resigned to this type of loss but this happened in football and even the strongest of hearts will feel the pain of this unfortunate loss.

What happened?

A Brazilian football club named CHAPOCOENSE was due for a final of their continental showpiece The Copa Sudamericana and they boarded their flight like any other football club with high hope's for a final, after going through the group stages, the quaters, semis and an anticipated finals but alas it wasn't meant to be.

Their chartered flight ran out of fuel and crashed in Medellin near Colombia and 71 out of the 77 people on board lost their lives, leaving only 6 out of the whole team alive and in devastating conditions.

How does that sound?

Sad,isn't it?

That's a whole team, those are some family's daddies, brothers, friends and breadwinners in their own rights and in the twinkle of an eye, they were lost by their families in the line of duty.

What a loss!

A very unfortunate tragedy indeed and in all ramifications.

I'm not here to remind you about this incident but just to let you see what happened after the tragic incident, how the entire football world rallied round to give them hope and how we can also imbibe some compassion towards our fellow humans in this world full of winner takes all mentality.

So, what happened afterwards?

Like I said earlier, only 6 people survived, the reserve goalkeeper but after loosing his legs in the tragedy which means he can't play football again, two players and 3 members of the staff.

Their number one goalie actually survived the crash and called his wife from the wreckage but eventually lost his life later on,he was the hero of matches preceding the finals having stopped 4 penalties in the semis.

The South American Football Association did one very significantly compassionate gesture by:

1)Presenting the trophy to Chapocoense without kicking a ball.

2)Medals were presented to wives of the players and staffs, and

3)For every game played around that time, the dead players were honored every 71st minutes of every match.

Isn't that a wonderful and compassionate gesture?

Most times,we always feel everything should be about us,us,us neglecting simple things we can do to make others feel better.

Compassion makes you happier, bigger and most importantly relaxed because you will be taking care of someone's emotional or physical needs.

Being compassionate is all encompassing and changes so many things and perspectives.

Though the team Chapocoense are relegated now, that kind of compassionate gesture will stay with the club and the families of the deceased for the rest of their lives.

Be compassionate,it adds to you.
